Dear Colleague,

I am delighted to attach the Winter 2012 edition of ‘Care Matters’ which is full of information advice and support for informal, unpaid or family carers who are looking after a family member, friend of neighbour at home. [Click on the attachment for the Winter Newsletter from Carers Oxfordshire which includes details about the The Good Neighbour Scheme in Beckley.] If you would like hard copies of the newsletter please do not hesitate to contact us by emailing your request to or by telephoning our office on 01235 424 715. The newsletter is becoming a very valued resource for carers and feedback from both professionals and carers is very positive. If you are in contact with any carer who would like to receive it on a quarterly basis by post they can register by visiting our website and clicking the ‘Sign up for our newsletter’ button.

This Friday the 30th November is National Carers Rights Day and the theme this year is ‘Getting help in tough times’. Carers Oxfordshire are  concentrating our activities in Witney this year where we hope to encourage many carers to identify themselves and find out how we can help to support them in their caring role. We will be out and about around the town throughout the day and have a stand in the Woolgate Centre so do please let carers know where to find us if they are in the Witney area that day.

Carers throughout the county can receive help, support and advice by telephoning 0845 050 7666 where they will also receive information about carers grants and be able to register for the free Emergency Carers Support Service.

Thank you for all your help and support in our work. Our colleagues are key to our ambition to identify carers at an early stage of their caring role and we appreciate your help immensely.

With very best wishes,
