BREAKAWAY GROUP - a social group for 18-30 years who have a learning disability that live in South Oxfordshire area .
The group meets up on a monthly basis for a wide variety of activity and entertainment: for instance: bowling, go karting, theatre trips, meals out, pottery painting, overnight breaks.
We always welcome new members. Once registered with us, the family can decide which outings their young person would like to participate in. This is a great way for parents and carers to receive a break whilst their young person benefits from stimulating social activity.
The criteria are that the young person should:
be aged between 18-30 years old and have a learning difficulty.
be able to engage in group activity and enjoy socialising.
be able to be supported in a 5:1 staff ratio (or be able to bring a support worker if additional support required).
able to get to an agreed meeting point, not normally more than 15 miles from home.
be able to fund their own costs (ie: cost of admission/ticket prices).
This group is financially supported by Oxfordshire County Council.
